It was here, on the ruggedly beautiful shores of Newfoundland and Labrador that the first English speaking settlement in what was to become Canada was established almost 400 years ago. The legacy of John Guy and his brave settlers is the very fabric of our culture, resonating across the ebb and flow of centuries. In 2010, we will celebrate their achievement with a mighty party.
